Welcome to the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ page). Below, we will try to answer the most common questions visitors to our web site may have. How do I join?

First, you must become a national H.O.G. member (“Full” or “Associate” member), CLICK HERE to check out the national site. Second, upon receiving your national H.O.G. number, download the GGHOG membership form. Fill it out and print it. Sign the form and send it to us with a check for your annual dues ($24 USD). Upon receipt of your form and verification of information, you will receive confirmation. For international members and those who cannot send a check, we can arrange other ways to send your dues. Why do I have to join the “National” H.O.G.s?

It is a HOG requirement. You obtain MANY benefits of being a national HOG member. It is worth it.

Can I join more than one local chapter?

Yes you can. Many of our members belong to other chapters; especially the ones in other countries. It increases your chances to ride! Of course, we hope you can spend time with us as much as possible.

What will I get with confirmation?

You will receive a request to fill out our database, then receive a password to our members only site. There you will see up to the minute updates from all our members. You will be able to download our newsletters, pictures and files. There is a calendar of events which many other members are attending and you can pick a date and join us on a ride! It is also a social setting to  socialize with all members and set up “last minute” group rides. Many members find the web site easy to use and appreciate it does not require a (complicated for some) membership/joining/set-up process. Even the most “computer challenged” folk find they can post news, comments, and photos with ease.

     But wait... there’s more... You are invited to monthly meetings, monthly rides, hang out with some great people, and have the honor to wear the world famous Golden Gate HOG rocker!

I am a beginner rider... I feel intimidated... I am new to the area... Do I need more experience before I join?

NO! We welcome all Harley riders. While we don’t give “beginner” classes (there’s a ton of classes around), you can gain a wealth of knowledge from the new friends you meet. If you’ve never ridden with a group, we will fill you in on all the “protocols” in a non-threatening presentation. We are working to provide a monthly get-together to refresh all of us in the fundamentals of group riding techniques. Come join us and ride! It is the best way to gain confidence (and new friends).
